Going through the documents left behind, we pieced together the story of Albert and Leopoldine — a strict father with a military past, and a mother who spent twenty-five years caring for the sick of her village. Together they raised one son, Matthias, a boy whose whole world was music — a passion his father never understood, and never accepted. Somewhere in the early 2000s, Matthias left. Not just the house, but the country — and he never came back. His parents kept his room exactly as he left it, waiting for a return that never came.
